• Digital Silver Imaging uses a Durst photographic laser printer to expose RC or Fiber silver gelatin papers with light and then process them in traditional b&w photo chemicals.

Why use DSI for your B&W printing?

• No Color variances: Commercial Photo labs print your b&w files on color RA4 papers and chemicals. This produces a magenta or cyan hue on your B&W print. Inkjet printers use small amounts of color inks to reproduce the Gray Scale. This also produces a color hue on the monochrome image. Why use a color process to produce a b&w print?
• No Ink Reflection: Ink pigments reflect light, resulting in unwanted glare or metamorism on your print. At DSI, we expose light onto silver papers and there is NO reflection.
